Louis Vuitton multi pochette: how to spot a fake?

Hello, everyone. Let me ask you a question. What is the most popular and iconic bag of this season? I would say that it's the Chanel 19 and, of course, the  Louis Vuitton multi pochette.

Since it's initial release all fashionistas and bloggers are dying to find it even considering buying it on resale platforms ,cause you need to be on a waitlist for 6 months or...have a good relationship with your sales assistant in order to get it from the boutiques.

So, if you're among those who seek this piece, before buying it - and you may end up paying even more money for this beauty than you could have paid in the shop - let's try to find out how to spot a fake Louis Vuitton multi pochette.

There are good fakes (extremely close to the authentic bag) and bad fakes - as always. I will try to compare an original LV bag, an AAA replica, and a low-quality fake. So, let's start...

Here are three bags

It's not that easy to say which one is fake, which one is not, judging only by the photos above. So, let's dive deeper into the authentication.

The first and one of the main signs of an authentic multi pochette is the leather tag. As you can see in this photo of the original bag, the embossed vertical lines end just BEFORE the stitching.

The tag on the fake bags is different - the lines usually do CROSS the stitches (see the bottom photo below). However, on AAA replicas the tags are as close to original as possible, as the lines also end before the stitching. So, let's move to the next telling detail...

..the zipper...An authentic pochette has thick zipper teeth and has no large gaps in between (like low-quality have - on the bottom photo).

Number three - always look at the metal clasp. The round 'pin' near the LV logo should be almost invisible, accurately made, and flush - even with the surroundings with barely noticeable thin contour (see an example below).

In AAA replicas and low-quality fakes, these details are usually noticeable and/or poorly made.

Now, let's talk about the coin purse. It has a light-colored leather lining. The structure is grainy. Usually, AAA replicas have almost the same texture with minor differences which you can notice only using zoom or magnifying glass.

It's much more easier to spot low-quality fakes straight away cause they have a smooth leather lining (see the bottom photo below).

One more thing that should draw your attention is this part inside of the bag. Inspect the photo - how it's made in the original Louis Vuitton multi pochette.

Now, let's take a look at fakes. AAA replica is in the right photo.

And now - the date code. It's very important where it's placed. In the large pouch, you will find it in the pocket on the right side. And the digits should go from bottom to top.

In the small pouch, the date code is in the right bottom corner and the digits are going from top to bottom.

And in the coin purse, the date code is on the right side from the stamp.

Of course, there are many more telling signs of an authentic and a counterfeit LV multi pochette, which I can share with you. If you are interested or have any doubts about the authenticity of your bag, just right a comment down below and I will try to help you.

P.S. And one more fact that you need to know about this bag. And a very important one! As it consists of several pieces, they all can be manufactured in different places and then collected all in one. So, if you will see different date codes on the large pouch and the coin purse, for example, it doesn't mean that the bag is fake)
